The Secret Triangle That Determines Your Success (And Why You’re Probably Stuck)

Robin RobinsMSP Marketing

Let me tell you something: success isn’t about doing just one thing. It’s not a silver bullet. It’s not a magic wand. It’s not a stroke of luck. It’s the result of doing the right things, in the right order, consistently. And yet, time and time again, I see business owners stuck—paralyzed—because they’re hung up on a few key fundamentals.

They’re spinning their wheels over questions like:

  • Who exactly is my target market?
  • What makes us different—what’s our unique selling proposition?
  • Where do I even begin building a list?
  • Which marketing campaign should I start with?

Sound familiar? If so, it’s time we talked about the real reason you’re not moving forward.

It’s Not The Campaign. It’s You.

You don’t have a campaign problem. You don’t have a strategy problem. You have a belief problem.

Here’s what I mean: you can be handed a proven, effective campaign on a silver platter, and still fail to implement it. Why? Because deep down, you don’t believe it will work. You think your clients are different. Your market is different. You’re different.

And that belief drives everything else.

The Triangle Of Transformation

Grab a pen. Draw a triangle. At the top, write Beliefs. On the right corner, write Actions. On the left corner, write Results. This is what I call the Triangle of Transformation. It’s simple, but this little diagram might just unlock everything for you.

Your beliefs drive your actions. Your actions determine your results. And your results reinforce your beliefs—good or bad.

Let me give you an example.

You tell yourself, “These silly campaigns won’t work on my clients.” And because you believe that, you don’t really commit to sending anything. Or you half-ass it—delay sending, tweak it to death, change the message, ignore the follow-up. Then guess what? Crickets. It doesn’t work.

But that just proves your belief, doesn’t it? “See, I knew it wouldn’t work.”

No—it didn’t work because you didn’t work it. You didn’t trust the process. It’s like rubbing toothpaste in your eye and then complaining it didn’t clean your teeth. You’ve got to use the tools the right way.

Your Beliefs Are Either Fuel Or Cement

Think about your own internal dialogue for a second. What beliefs do you have about your customers? About marketing? About hiring? About sales?

  • Do you believe people won’t pay higher prices?
  • Do you believe no one will respond to direct mail?
  • Do you believe you’re not a good marketer, or that you’re bad at sales?

If those beliefs are rooted in fear, inexperience or just plain laziness, they’ll act like cement. You’ll get stuck. But if your beliefs are rooted in confidence, certainty and possibility, they’ll fuel action.

And action is what changes everything.

Beliefs → Actions → Results → Repeat

This isn’t just about business—it’s everywhere. Want to lose weight? If your belief is “I’ve tried every diet and nothing works,” how likely are you to stick with the next one?

Exactly. You dabble. You quit. You get the same results. And those results confirm your belief.

It’s the same in business.

So let me challenge you: what belief is holding you back right now? What story are you telling yourself that’s keeping you small, stagnant and stuck?

You have to interrupt that cycle. Examine your beliefs. Challenge them. Ask: “Is this actually true, or is this just something I’ve told myself so I can avoid taking action?”

Shift Your Mindset, Shift Your Results

This is where success starts—not in the tactics, not in the tools, but in the beliefs that guide your decisions. If you can shift your beliefs, the rest follows.

You’ll start showing up differently. You’ll send that campaign. You’ll have that sales conversation. You’ll charge what you’re worth. You’ll stop hiding behind excuses and start doing the work.

And when that happens, the results will follow. I’ve seen it again and again.
